September 12: give the train a way out
Corey’s first Wayfarer had room to appear beside its Foundry, but no room to leave. Its recorded travel was zero. It had also accepted ordinary residue pickups, sending an expedition vehicle toward a tight industrial loading bay.
What changes
- Completed Wayfarers appear at a connected, enabled Departure yard only after checking a full-width bay and a terrain-checked exit to the parcel border lane. A clear pocket inside a ring of buildings is insufficient.
- If commissioning cannot proceed, the finished paid batch stays at the Foundry with a specific explanation. No replacement charge, discarded train or invented material delivery.
- Wayfarers wait at their yard for expeditions. Ordinary freight and construction remain with the normal robot fleet. Existing cargo finishes safely.
- New construction leaves a 50 m clear apron around Departure yards and keeps the whole footprint 50 m inside parcel borders. Across a shared border that reserves 100 m for surface travel. Maintain a wide approach from the yard to the lane.
- Existing buildings and paid construction stay intact. Federation Node sites keep their corner space. Paving and articulated trailer physics remain future work.
This commissioning rule abstracts final assembly at the yard; it does not simulate carrying train subassemblies there. Terrain and older settlements can still interrupt a long journey, so an open local exit is not a guarantee of every route across the Moon.
Recovery and verification
Corey explicitly requested moving his trapped, empty train to the Departure yard. Recovery is limited to that train’s position/navigation and releasing its three uncollected freight assignments. Cargo quantities, source and destination reservations, construction, research and other players remain unchanged. A consistent database snapshot and an isolated recovery rehearsal precede the live move; the deployment record establishes completion.
Regression checks cover paid commissioning, missing yards, narrow and wider enclosures, ordinary-job exclusion, apron/border placement and reservation precedence. The full existing suite and a saved-world recovery rehearsal are required before release. No workstation GPU is used.
